Meeting the last docor...

We finally met the last of the four doctors that could be delivering our baby. This is the doctor that our friend, Shiara, sees. She has been braging about her doctor from day one, even though we say our doctor is the best. Well, when we were there for our appointment the nurse didn't even call us back until 5 minutes after our appointed time. Then after she did her little check up we had to wait 25 minutes for Doctor Lee to make an entrance! We couldn't believe it. I know this is not normal for her because I doubt that Shiara would stand for that, but it was still shocking. Dusty and I keep thinking about the Jerry Seinfeld stand up where he talks about doctors making you wait, just because they can. "... Just once I want to say, "I'm not ready for you yet, go back in your office... and take your pants off."" If you haven't seen it, it's pretty funny. After all that we found out that I hardly gained any weight this last week (only .6 lbs, yay!), that I tested negative for Strep B (definatly good news, hopefully no IV during labor), and that my blood pressure is a little high. Now every week I have to give a urine sample to make sure I don't get Preeclampsia and I have to watch to make sure I don't suddenly swell. So far I have only been swelling after I have been walking around a lot and it usually goes down once I rest a little and/or drink water. Hopefully it stays that way because I like being able to wear my wedding ring.

Last Class

This week we had the last two classes of our Child Birth Prep Class. Our teacher is going to be gone next Monday so we had two classes this week to make sure we got them all in. Since this is our last class, we took pictures of all the women in order of due date. The first girl on the left was 6 days over due, the next girl is the one in our ward at church and is due the week before me, then I am next and so on. We are planning on getting together after all the baby's are born to take pictures of all the kids. It should be a lot of fun.

Spending money...

Dusty and I went shopping over the weekend and got a few final essentials. Grandma Sue and Grandpa Jerry helped us buy a new glider and dresser for the baby's room. I put them together as soon as possible because I couldn't wait to get her clothes washed and into the dresser. Even with the dresser half full of clothes the closet is still packed with stuff! It's nice to have this done (or almost done). Now I feel a little more ready. Or at least confident that she will be dressed and that we have a place to change her diaper. As you can see this baby now has an entire wall for all her stuff. As you can see we will have Sydney Bristow watching over us.
This wasn't the original swing and bouncer that we wanted, but since we got it and put it together, I like it more and more. The swing swings both ways (front to back and side to side) and it has a plug in (so we're not using so many batteries), but also takes batteries when a plug is not available. The mobile has leaves that go up and down (which is a little hypnotic) and animals that spin around. It's pretty entertaining, I've even found myself watching it. And the bouncer has a waterfall (why the baby needs this, I don't know?). I'm still getting used to the color, but we'll see. All in all we got a ton of stuff and was so much fun going through it all (I'm kind of sad that it's done, I guess there will always be something that we need). I guess for now all we need is a baby.

Another Appointment

We had another appointment this last Wednesday. We got to meet another one of the doctors that could possibly deliver this baby. She was pretty nice, so it wouldn't be too bad if we ended up with her (of course we'd love to have our doctor). Either way I know I'll have Dusty and Amy there. Also at this appointment I was tested for Strep B. If it's positive I'll have to be on an IV throughout labor, so lets hope it comes back negative! Now we have doctors appointments every week from here on out. I think next week we start getting checked to see if I'm dialated, so that should be fun. There's a girl in our Child Birth Prep Class that told us she'd been dialated to 3cm for the last week. Yikes! We also meet the last of the four doctors from the Corvallis Clinic nex week, it'll be nice to finally meet her. This last week we also noticed that a couple from our Child Birth Prep Class are in our ward at church. They just moved here from Utah and it's been fun getting to know them.

Another Baby Shower

My awesome friends threw me a baby shower up here in Corvallis and I just wanted everyone to see how much work they put into it. It was so much fun and I got a lot of great stuff. My mom and sisters came up for the event and many of the friends I've made since moving here came too. If you don't know this about me, I like pigs, so it was fun to see the many ways they incorporated pigs into the decor. A huge thanks to Shannon, Brindy and Jen!

Shannon made these great Onsies with baby pictures of Dusty and me. They are so cute!

Shannon and her friend made these cupcakes that look like pigs. There are even two different sizes. And they were really yummy too (I think I ate about four of the little ones!).

Jen made this towel for us. I am so excited to use it (I mean for the baby to use it... yeah...). I love the pink and brown combo. I look really bad in this picture, but it's worth it to show off this cool towel!
Brindy made me this bedding set (bumper, quilt and crib skirt). She worked hard to made sure this was done for my shower (I think she did the whole thing in a week). I had to put it on the crib as soon as possible. It looks great in her room. I loved it so much I went and got more material and had my mom make me curtains to match.

34 Week Happenings

We had another appointment with our regular doctor yesterday and everything is right on track. The only thing that she seemed concerned about was the fact that we haven't picked a pediatritian yet. So hopefully we'll have that done by the time we go back to her (our next two appointments are with other doctors from the clinic). We go back in two weeks and then every week after that.
Dusty is getting back into the swing of things with school. He says that this term he's going to get good grades from the start rather than trying to bring up his grades during the last two weeks because he slacked off at the start (which is what he usually does). He just found out that he doesn't have to take one of his classes, he got it waived, so he's down to 13 instead of 16 credits for this term. He's excited and this is the perfect term to have that happen since we'll be so busy at the end of term. I am just excited that I don't have to go to school this term. The weather has been so nice this week that I'm glad I don't have to sit in a classroom all day. When it starts raining next week I'll probably be bored out of my mind and start wishing that I had somewhere to go. We'll have to see.
We also started our Birth Prep Classes this Monday. They should be pretty informative. Our teacher is funny and is able to keep us entertained for the entire two hours. This is a nice feature since Dusty has 6 hours of regular school on Mondays and if the teacher wasn't good I would feel a little bad about making him sit through 2 more hours of class. Dusty and I are just so excited for next weeks class when we get to watch our first labor video! Dusty has is focal point already picked out... just fyi... it's not the T.V. screen. ;) Also interesting is the fact that one of Dusty's professors is in our Birth Prep Class. I don't think that Dusty has introdicted himself (or that he ever will), but I'm sure it's wierd to see him in class after seeing him with his pregnant wife.
