We had an appointment this last Wednesday and everything still seems to be fine. This little girl is getting bigger and bigger. She was also head down during our appointment, but the doctor said that she's still small enough to turn around. So we'll have to wait a bit before she needs to be head down till the end. I can always tell which position she's in because she keeps kicking me in the ribs. It's funny because if she's head down I can see her feet moving (alien stomach!), but if she's head up or sideways I can usually only feel her moving because I can't see that part of my body anymore. This was the first of three appointments where we'll meet the other doctors at the Corvallis Clinic (every other appointment will be with one of the other doctors). It was fun. The doctor we saw was very different than our doctor. It made me grateful that we got the doctor we did. Our next appointment is in two weeks with our regular doctor.
We are leaving for Redding this morning and are very excited for some sunny weather (it had better not be raining). We will be down there for a week and on our way back home we are planning on stopping in Mount Shasta over night to celebrate our 6th Anniversary. I should be fun.
Also, congrats to my sister Jennifer (also pregnant). They found out that they are sure they are having a girl. Yay! I'm excited that these two girls will be so close in age.

30 Week Appointment
We had an appointment last Thrusday and were reassured that everything is fine. Unfortunatly I found out that I gained abother 6 1/2 pounds! Our goal is 22 pounds total, so I've got another 41/2 to go to meet that. We'll see if I can stay within the goal. Overall the only change that I have notived lately is this baby's activity level. She's moving around a lot now. And if I sit or lay in a position that she doesn't like, she let's me know. I've had to realize that there is no resting until she's ready to rest too. Unfortunatly this is probably foreshadowing the future. Other than that there isn't any new baby news.
In other news, we found out that Dusty got a job in Redding for the summer. So we'll be living down there for a couple of months. It will be nice for our family down there to get to know our little girl a little before we have to come back up here. I already got a little swim suit for her since I know she and I will be living by the pool at my parents house. I can't wait to see her in it. As far as the detail of when we'll be down there and for how long, we don't know much. All we know is that Dusty will be working at Longs, but we'll keep you posted when we get more info.

Thanks Deli Guy!
So I was at WinCo early this week and as I was getting meat from the deli, the deli guy asked me how the baby was. Well I thought this was a little weird and the guy caught me of guard, but I responded that the baby was fine. After which he proceeded to tell me that his wife had just lost a baby and that she was seven months pregnant. What?!?! Why did this guy tell me this? Was he trying to get me to freak out in the middle of the WinCo deli section or was he just nuts?!?! I couldn't believe it. Even an hour later when Dusty came home I was still mad. Seriously I still can't believe it. Was it really that weird or is it just me?

Test results
I had to go back to the doctor this last week to do my glucose test and to get my rhogam shot. I had to drink the "orange soda" and wait an hour. I thought it was going to be boring, but luckily my friend Shiara (who is due the day before me) was going in to have her glucose test the same day. So we went together and spent the hour waiting and talking. It turned out to be a lot of fun. She went in to have her blood drawn first and conspired with the nurse to come out telling me how painful it was. Well, she was right, it did hurt, but not as bad as the rhogam shot. After telling Shiara goodbye (she didn't have to get the shot) I had to head up stairs and get a shot in the back of my hip (my bum!). That one was more painful, but at least it was quick. Hopefully this will be my last shot of this kind (after birth our baby will be tested to see if she has the same blood type as me, if she does we're safe, if not I get another shot). Later in the week I found out that I passed the glucose test (yay!), so I don't have to go back for the three hour test and also that I don't have gestational diabetes (can someone pass the cookies?). Now the only reason I won't be sitting by the cookie jar is my reluctance to gain 40 pounds. I did find out that my iron level is still low even thought I've been taking iron suppliments. So I've got to start taking more and with something high in Vitamin C so it will be absorbed. It's a good thing some yummy fruit is now in season, that makes it a little easier. So I guess I should be saying can someone pass the oranges?
Baby Shower
Jennifer and I had a combined baby shower in Redding this last weekend and it was a lot of fun. It was well worth the drive down there to see all the friends and family that came over to celebrate with us.
Kellie made us each a "diaper cake." Unfortunatly they will be put to good use. Also the cupcakes that are on the table we pretty cool. Jen, Kellie, Anna and Mom all worked hard to make them. They were little babies wrapped in blankets. Awww, how cute...My Mom made this dress for our little girl to be blessed in at church. It is so beautiful, I can't wait to see her in it. Dusty's Mom also made a blanket for us to use during her blessing and it matches perfectly.

Jen had a great idea for guests to bring books instead of cards (since her and I both love to read why shouldn't we get our girls started early?). We both got a lot of books that will come in handy during bed time and in keeping our girls entertained in general.

A big thanks to our Mom and Kellie for putting this whole thing together for us. And thanks to those who came and/or brought gifts. The whole party was a lot of fun and everything we got will come in handy.

26 Week Doctors Appointment
We had a doctors appointment today and everything is going swimmingly. I've gained 11 pounds so far, and hopefully this last month (8 pounds!) will be the most weight gain of this pregnancy. My blood pressure is good and the baby's heart rate is at 148bpm (Jen says 150 means it's a girl, but we're having a girl, so who knows). I didn't get any of the other stats, but our doctor didn't say anything looked out of the ordinary, so I guess we're good. I go back in two weeks to do my glucose testing and get my rhogam shot, so we'll see how that goes. We like going to these appointments because we get to hear the heartbeat and that's always neat. Dusty thinks it sounds like the soundtrack of one of the Star Trek movies. So he's always sitting to the side laughing, while I'm up on the table trying not to laugh so the nurse can get to the heartbeat. Today he thought that is sounded like a dog barking, even the nurse was laughing. She (the baby) was also hiding behind my belly button, so it took a while to make contact with her. Then when the nurse finally found her she was moving so much that that was all we could hear. At least this proves that I'm not crazy thinking that this little girl loves to move around. Every time I stand or sit still, she starts having a party in my stomach. I guess she's preparing me for what the future holds (maybe she wants to be a soccer player?).
