The End of Summer

We are finally home after a long summer. We had fun staying at my parents house, but we are all glad to be home. Isabella was a little confused our first few days back, but I think that she's getting used to being here. The first night was a little rough. She didn't want to sleep in her own bed. Since then she's slept in there every night.

Since being home, Isabella has turned 4 months old. She's getting so big. We'll have a doctors appointment tomorrow so we should have an update on her weight and height then.
-She's started her transition into size 2 diapers, but they are still a little big.
-She's still in 3 month clothes and 6 months still look huge next to her so I think we'll be there for a while.
-She is getting the hang of going to sleep on her own. She is now only waking up once at night and we are working on having her sleep straight through the night. So far she's hasn't taken to it so we'll see how it goes.
-She seems to be getting more mobile. When she's playing on her mat it only takes her about 10 seconds to be on the move. It seems like her legs never stop moving. We got her a jumper and she loves it. She barely fits in it and her feet barely reach the floor, but she's figured out what she needs to do to get it going.
-She still hasn't gotten the hang of rolling over. Some times she gets over on her side and then loses intrest and rolls back.
-She still loves being outside. If she's ever crying all we have to do is go outside or get her close to a window. We'll see how that works out once it starts raining everyday.
-She has been eating rice cereal for the last month and she's getting better at it everyday. I think she has improved to the point where she gets more in her mouth than on her bib (which has been a huge improvement). She tried formula the other night (I just wanted to see if she would eat it, if we were desperate) and it did not go well. I think she might eat it if she was hungry enough, but if given the choice she doesn't prefer it (which is good).

Other big events that have happened since we got back to Corvallis include going to Eugene, Portland and Salem and Mommy and Daddy's first day of Fall Term. We went to Eugene on Friday to pick up some stuff that Daddy left in Redding that Aunt Kellie brought up for him. It was good to see Aunt Kellie again, even though it had only been a few days. ;) After visiting Aunt Kellie we went out to dinner. A bunch of the waitresses came by our table to say hi to Isabella and she thought that was a lot of fun.
We went to Portland on Saturday to visit our friends Megan and Scott and their new house as well as Jennifer and Anton and their new apartment. That was the first time we were able to see Megan and Scott's new house and the first time that they got to see Isabella. We had a lot of fun visiting with them. We also got to see the apartments Jen and Anton moved into. Anton just started at OHSU, the same school Dusty will be going to in a year, and we're hoping to move into the same apartments when we move up there. It was nice to see what we can look forward to when we leave Corvallis. The apartments were so nice compared to what we have been living in. We are very excited to finally upgrade (even if we have to pay more).
On our way home we stopped in Salem to see our friends Shiara and Nathan and their new house and Jenn and David and Jenn's baby belly. It was fun to see Shiara and Nathan's new house and see their son, Owen, again. He is only 5 days older than Isabella and, like Lily, much bigger than her (though not quite as big as Lily). It was also nice to see Jenn and David who we haven't seen since they moved to Salem. Jenn is having a baby in November and I was excited to see her before she has Baby Tucker.
Today we had our first day of school for fall term. I have been a little nervous about going back, but I was able to sign up for one class on campus and two on-line classes so I will be able to stay home with Isabella. My schedule only overlaps with Dusty's for one hour on Monday mornings. So this morning Isabella got to hang out with our friends Katrina and Lizzy, her daughter. Katrina told me that Isabella was very good and she didn't even cry. She took a nap without throwing a fit. The hardest part seemed to be keeping Lizzy away from the crib while Isabella was asleep. Hopefully she continues to be well behaved. Dusty has started his second year of Pharmacy School and I think he's already looking forward to it being over. Everyone says that the second year is the hardest (you have to pass every test or you can't move on) so we'll be excited when it's over (even though it's just started).
